What is sex life after a partial hysterectomy.?
I’mconsidering having just my uterus removed, leaving the cervix and ovaries. I’m wondering if there will be any dryness since i’m keeping my ovaries. Will I have to take hormone replacements? I’m still young and want to enjoy my sex life.
Jesus, that seems like a huge solution to a LITTLE problem. If you just want to enjoy sex without protection you should look up a procedure called "getting your tubes tied." They place a wire cuff around the middle of each fallopian tube so that an egg cannot be released and travel to the uterus where it could possibly implant into the side of the wall after becoming fertilized. This process is an outpatient procedure with no incisions or scars and is reversible. After your "tubes" become tied, your body senses the block and will stop your ovaries from ovulating (i.e. no period, no eggs, no pregnancy chance).
Getting your uterus removed is like having your leg amputated because you had a sprained ankle. Also, hysterectomies are where the ovaries are removed, not the uterus. The male equivalent of a hysterectomy would be a castration.

If you *need* to have this done, do it. It won’t change anything about your sex life or sexual function at all unless you let it. No need for supplemental hormones: you’ll still have your ovaries to provide them for you.

The vagina will continue to produce lubrication after a hysterectomy. Occasionally the ovaries can go into "shock" after a hysterectomy. The condition can last for months. It is possible you could have to take hormones.
To Vampyre–A hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus only. An oophorectomy is the surgical removal of the ovaries. If the ovaries and fallopian tubes, it is called a salpingo-oophorectomy. Women do not have hysterectomies as methods of birth control. A hysterectomy is the "surgery of last resort" for women having reproductive health problems (fibroids, endometriosis, cancer, etc.).
